Wet
I recently discovered Reddit. Then, far more interestingly, this morning I discovered Reddit Gets Drawn (hat tip to Thomas over at One Drawing Daily for mentioning it), a handy community wherein people basically offer up photographs for you to have a go at drawing – great for practice, especially if, like me, you’d rather not constantly be doing self-portraits to that end. I had a lengthy browse, and there are lots of potentially fun drawings, but this one immediately caught my eye, not least because our subject is soaked. The wet look is, I feel, another one of those rather ominous features that could make or break a portrait. Moreover, I don’t think I’ve ever actually tried to capture it, before, so, feeling slightly bullish, I had to at least have a go. I hope you like it!
I love this, I really like these type of man. So if you look like this….. and Single, please tell Jacob, he will let me know…. NO just kidding and making fun. Also I will print him out and hang him beside my bed.
I love the drawing, but you must have understand that by now. Still you surprise e over and over again Jacob, you are really gifted. Thank you for sharing 😄😆

Hahaha! As I read this, my eyebrow was creeping higher and higher; thankfully dropped back to where it should be on hearing you’re messing around. Indeed, he’s a handsome guy. Great pose.
Thank you for your kind comments, Geke!

Thanks, Thomas – ooh, I didn’t keep track but I’d estimate somewhere between four and five hours. I did stop for bed in the middle! 😉
You should find the photo in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/redditgetsdrawn/comments/3khgxz/my_calvin_klein_attempt/

No Jacob, Thank you 😆
And you’re comment was hilarious, but I do hope there’s no permanent damage to your eyebrows, lucky you that they dropped to there original spot 😅😂
It’s a beautiful drawing, and that’s no joke. Somehow I feel more free, after what we shared yesterday, to react more like me, I do hope you understand what I’m referring to
But it’s a wonderful and detailed drawing. If I can a me a suggestion, Freddie singing Princess of the Universe, I wonder how you catch his super male and macho looks in the video, and I don’t mean it in a sexual way, but the look on his face and in his eyes….Freddie was The Highllander during that song, and I wonder how you translate that on paper. I ķnow it’s not common to request and also not polite, but I was just wondering. Also Where and What trigger you’re Inspiration?
I hope you can forgive me my fooling around, but I was no disrespect towards your drawing, that is beautiful, I hope you understand what I’m trying to say in not my first language, but thank you for the amazing drawings you posted so far ❤

I’m not actually that familiar with the Princes of the Universe video, I shall have to have another look and see what I can take from it.

Ha! I love how that’s seasoned with only a full stop, leading me to read it in a disappointed tone… as it, no doubt, was intended… my answer to that is ‘Oh, be quiet!’
I did it for the drops!! Which you like. Thank you.

Awesome sketch!! The drops are excellent! I can’t draw people well at all, so I’m sitting here in awe and impressed! 😉

Thanks so much, Charlie! It was a bit tentative with the drops, but I’m pretty chuffed with how they came out.
Ah, well, ’tis all down to practice. I found to my horror that my drawing muscles had gone very rusty, so I set up a blog to push me into fixing that!
Your style is very charming and I’m in little doubt that you could create an equally beautiful portrait!

Thanks so much!! I actually did my first one today, but didn’t love it. I think I may still like buildings better. Hehe… but more practice is always good! 😉
