Yes, cats were his favorites. It’s hard to imagine Freddie is gone for 24 years, it seems so much shorter. A true legendary singer, songwriter and performer and best frontman ever. I think he has a lot in common with a tiger, also legendary and beautiful. Thank you Jacob for this memory of Freddie, still miss him ❤
Yes, I believe Delilah was a tortoiseshell, so that’s why I drew one today. I like the idea of Freddie being like a tiger… a tiger defying the laws of gravity, perhaps? 🙂
Haha! While that would be a terrific name for a cat (well, perhaps not), this is a drawing in tribute to Freddie, who passed way twenty-four years ago today. I believe his favourite cat was a tortoiseshell.
I love her ominous glare. They are notably feisty, so your assessment is probably accurate!
Oooh…buuuut…why would a cat face with a detailed description of the cat be a tribute to him? Oh, I see. His favorite. Well, hopefully someone can paint me a Russian blue someday when I pass…and on “anniversaries.” That has become my favorite breed to date.
Thanks, Sharon! It’s a reference to Freddie’s passing, which was this day in 1991. His favourite companion was a tortoiseshell cat. I should probably edit and make this clearer (blush)!

Yes, I like that idea as well, because Freddie was and still is One Of A Kind 🙂

The cat’s name was Freddie Mercury??
That cat is saying, “I already ate. But, you’re next.”

Oh, I’ve no doubt you’ll get hundreds of Russian blue paintings! They are pretty amazing, I agree.

They do indeed! They love the attention 😛 Thanks! Sadly not one of my rabble, though I had a tortoiseshell growing up; she was just as perfect.

Oh wow ! You are really outstanding with this – those eyes and the hairs. Was this done in colored pencils?

Thanks so much, Cynthia – this is actually drawn in Photoshop, the strokes made using a combination of the mouse and a graphic tablet.

Oh, delightful! Wonderful expression. My cats approve. 😉
Just noticed that you did this using a tablet, in PS? Had no idea. Wow!

If your cats approve then I must have done a good job! Thanks, Robin and co!
