Paisley the Pretty

reddit-18-01You go ages without a foray into Reddit Gets Drawn and then you do two in a row. Crazy, I know. Anyway, here’s Paisley, a very pretty cat who appears to know as much going by the pose in this photograph… but then, show me a cat who doesn’t know! Indeed I was struggling to find the motivation to draw anything today, until this adorable little one came along – bang goes my early night, eh Paisley? I’ll let you off ’cause you’re a cat.

For those stopwatch/Wheel of Time Reddit enthusiasts, I did try and go as quickly as I could (though I’d be lying if I said the aforementioned plans for sleep weren’t a big factor in doing as much). This took about an hour and a half in total, which is really rather quick for me.

And so to bed! Or at least when I’ve done my WordPress rounds. Yeesh, no rest for the wicked… I’m just joshing, of course. Where would I be without my bedtime reading?

I expect there to be many vastly more charming drawings of Paisley to come, so be sure to keep a paw on the comment thread.

Indeed Tom, it was the eyes that captured me! Then the fact that it’s a cat, I suppose. Very cute indeed!

Paisley is beautiful, I had dogs but cats as well, but now my last cat, the dogs has died earlier, and now my last sweetheart Whitney was hit by a car. Now I live alone 😥 Your drawing is beautiful, you can hir her or him, purr, if I remember the word correct. You did a beautiful drawing, thank you for it ❤

Oh no, I’m very sorry to hear that Geke. I’ve lost cats that way too and it’s truly terrible. Hopefully in time you’ll feel able to take on a new little friend.

Thanks, Teresa – the softness came from me getting lazy and just using a larger brush. Glad it paid off! 😉

  2. Paisley is adorable!!! What a sweet face and so well done Jacob! I think I could reach out and pet this little beauty! Love it! You need one of these too!! Hehe…though I’m not sure how well Paisley would get along with the seal. 😉

Thanks Charlie – I want her, she’s beautiful! And if Paisley is anything at all like my current catty crew, she’ll keep Mr Seal well and truly in check! 😉

Yay! A gorgeous kitty-kat. He/She has a lovely smile on their face, which you’ve captured perfectly! Nice work, J. PS: I do my blog-reading in the morning, to get me started for the day; at the end of the day, I just wanna sleep. 🙂

Thanks, Janina – glad to have captured that wonderful expression – commanding and compassionate! I tend to do my rounds in lieu of a book at bedtime – I think a nice dose of energetic artwork at that time is good for exciting dreams. 😉

      • Hopefully soon, I have not painted this weekend, unless you count the shed and fences, it was such lovely weather I really had to get on with some outdoor jobs, grrr!

Ooh, well at least you got some painting in I suppose! 😉 Hope you find time for the more exciting kind soonish, though. Glad you had some nice weather; it’s still pretty grey and chilly here – I feel as though I’ve not left the house for months!

      • Gosh really….we were nearly able to go out in t shirts this weekend, a welcome break from the crap weather, sending some sunshine your way, so you can find the outdoors. 🌞

Aw, that’s a nice way of interpreting it, thanks Lee. Cats are often regarded as a bit pompous and indeed, they are. But they can also come across as very affectionate little characters.

Many thanks, JP! A cat would only heighten the mischief that goes on in that place, so I heartily recommend getting one 😉

Hi there Jacob. A lovely mystifying image of Paisley there. What a bonny little feline friend 🙂

I was wondering if you could do something for me that would fulfill everything I need for a little project… As I’ve briefly mentioned in the past, I have a keen interest in Deal or No Deal on C4, and thus would a render of the studio in Cinema 4D, seeing as you are such a star in it (I can go as far as Photoshop CS6, but Cinema 4D is more advanced, and of course you know it like the back of your hand). 😀 Would you be able to do it for me if I sent you any images over email? I bear in mind that you work loads as it is so I understand if you cannot.

    Best regards,
    Anthony
