Kate Bush

katebush-5How mesmerising is Kate Bush? Incredibly so. That’s something I’ve been meaning to get off my chest for quite some time. Now I’ve said it, and hopefully my painting does those feelings some justice! I did have to pull myself away, ones hopes before veering into ‘overworked’ territory.

A pretty mesmerising talent, too! A voice so full of energy, and an artistic eye like no other. Great stuff.

  1. Yes!!!! I wuvs Kate! She’s so unique. And creative, and beautiful, and yet so incredibly down to earth. I only found out a year or so back that it was David Gilmour who discovered her. (Thanks, Dave!) I think record companies were finding her a little too “out there” or something, but DG recognised her talents and helped her get some stuff recorded, and kinda kick-started her success. I think they’ve been friends for a really long while, now, which is sweet ^_^
Anyhoo, you’ve certainly done the lady justice here! I’m loving all that red, too. Just lovely!

You have excellent taste! She is so unique. And wow wow – unbelievable! That’s neat, given we were only recently cooing over him. I had no idea. Yet more love for David, in that case… and, now you say it, I can totally picture them as friends.

Glad to hear it – thanks very much, as ever!

      • She’s SO awesome 😀 I remember the first time i saw the “cloudbusting” video. I so wanted to be her! She’s massively original and creative. Yeah, how cool is that? Another reason to love the lovely David. The man has taste! There are photos of them on the internet performing together and stuff, and they’re both all smiley and happy. It’s quite sweet. ^_^
No worries, it’s really nicely done. I was so happy to see Kate’s face in my reader!

Yeah, that’s a great video! I almost chose that actually, but it’s Running Up That Hill that’s been stuck in my head for ages now – not that I’m complaining! – so it seemed the natural choice. Ha, I still want to be her! 😉 Jeez, I’d pay an outrageous amount to go and see her perform.

Ooh, I just found a video of she and David doing Running Up That Hill together. That’s made my night – incredible!!

      • Isn’t it just!? That cloud making machine has always enchanted me. But, yes, she has SO many great tunes. Hard to pick just one! There are probably plenty of people out there that want to be Kate! Like, why wouldn’t ya? She’s awesome. Ooh, yes, that’d be great to see her live.

Aren’t they cute? They seem like they’re having so much fun. They clearly enjoy one another’s company immensely. It’s lovely to see. I’d be pretty stoked to hang out with either of them!

  2. Intense portrait Jacob, like the person herself, intense and powerful and vulnerable and tender all at the same time, well done, that’s a daunting subject but it’s beautifully done

Oh wow – thanks so much, Phil! Yes, I think that complexity is what’s put me off attempting a portrait for so long, so I’m thrilled to hear that her character comes through.
