Hot Tree Candy

Ready to be picked. I don’t know who he is, but he was a lot of fun to draw and, after several false starts recently, this happened very quickly.

Thanks to Fearsome Beard for selecting the photato as Beard of the Day and bringing the subsequent inspiration. Do check out his site if you, like me, are fans of charming men with charming beards.

Also, wow. So this is the new WordPress editor that I’ve seen various bloggers struggle with and complain about for months. Argh! I can see why. It does seem rather daunting. Hopefully this post comes through without catastrophe.

It’s perfect, beautiful how I see it. I love it. It’s not expert opinion.

Wow, thanks Camilla! I do like working on grey; it helps to achieve tone, which is good when dealing with such a toned figure.

  2. Cool drawing, and he looks cool. The beard yes, but also that kiss curl. I’m working on an art collab at the mo about the ancient Greek/Persian battles of Thermopylae and Salamis (think the film series 300), and this guy could easily be one of the characters given the right costume.

Thanks, TVTA! He is very cool – certainly caught my eye. Sounds like a fun project, and I could see him in the garb too.

After a bit of research, I have discovered that he’s George Dellinger, an American model. The reference photato was originally put up on his Instagram by the looks of it. Maybe you can gain some extra inspiration from him and his poses! Maybe I can too! 😉

Thanks so much, Tierney! It just happily came together here, and I so love it when that happens. Just needed the right model to bring the inspiration!

  4. Just catching up on WP and the first image to hit the screen was this guy hanging around. I was trying to think of a pun around “well hung” but have given up and will just say “well done” 😎

Hi Steve, I was only thinking of you last night actually. Seems like ages since we last spoke! Hope all is well.

“Well hung” will certainly do for me, thanks 😉

      • Indeed, even though in theory I should have at least another 3-4 hours in my days on the lockdown work from home schedule it feels like I’ve got even less time for checking up on WordPress, etc. Maybe it was a commuting activity before 🤔

Yeah, I know the feeling. Lockdown had quite an impact on my productivity all round (and I was working from home before!). Great to see you back anyway, stay safe and all that.
